Tomorrow marks the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech, and the Washington National Cathedral in D.C. will honor it in a special way. The Cathedral carillon, located in its central tower, will be rung at the exact time that Dr. King delivered his speech.

The DCist says that a press release about the event also mentions that the bells will also be rung to the sounds of spirituals such as "Lift Every Voice and Sing," "My Country 'Tis of Thee" and "We Shall Overcome."

It also makes note of connections betwen Dr. King and the Cathedral. Not only did former dean Very Reverend Francis B. Sayre, Jr. march with Dr. King during the voting rights march from Selma to Montgomery, Ala., in 1965, Dr. King also received an invitation to preach at the Cathedral in 1968.
