Brooklynites: Get Free Rides This Weekend in NYC by Using the Uber App

...and there's more.

None

Live in New York and never heard of Uber before? Well, it's time we fix that, because this weekend, Uber (a taxi-like service) is offering virtually free rides in Brooklyn.

That's right, the weekend of the VMAs, in Brooklyn, and Uber is offering free rides to and from neighborhoods in the borough. Well, it's not exactly free-free, but the first $20 of the trip is on the house from them. So you can head to a lot of different parties places all for the price of free. Uber is an app that connects you to luxury car drivers for hire, such as Lincoln Town Cars, Cadillac Escalades, BMW 7 Series, and Mercedes-Benz S550 sedans. Now go cruise through Brooklyn like a big-wig.

Just download the Uber app, and enter the promo code BKLOVESuberX and select uberX, then you're set. It's good for two ride between Friday at midnight to Sunday. Also, the there will be over 40businesses participating in the promotion, like 2-for-1 coffees at Blue Bottle, six free oysters when you get a drink at OTB, a free Kelvin Boozy Slush at Pork Slope, a free cocktail at Do or Dine, or a free cheese plate at the JakeWalk. Boom. Weekend set. Check out the entire list here.

Download Uber for iPhone and Android.
