Is this too low-brow for Aaron Sorkin to write a similar story into the next season of The Newsroom? On Friday, the KGO-TV news team was robbed of their equipment in broad daylight in West Oakland. According to the Huffington Post, the crew was ordered to lie on the ground while their camera equipment was taken by three men, one of whom was armed. The fact that this all went went down during the day with a guard present illustrates just how few fucks are given in the Bay.

Oakland police told the San Jose Mercury that this is the most recent incident in a string of crimes targeting the media. Back in July, a group of reporters and photographers from Bay Area News Group were robbed of their equipment and in May, a KGO-TV news van was broken into at Oakland's Jack London Square.
