A new video from The Creative Assembly shows off the naval warfare aspect of the upcoming Total War: Rome 2. In this video we get to see how ships and units will interact. Troops will ram their ships and do battle onboard as well as standing afar and emblazing the enemy with fire arrows.

Ramming is now a key part of navel battle with heavy ships cracking smaller hulls apart with a single blow and smaller ships can coordinate ramming and boarding to take over huge ships.

Rome 2 players will have access to a variety of vessels made of different materials and with difference capabilities. The Mediterranean ships featured in the video are fast moving attack ships loaded with fire arrow troops and fire pots that explode with the enemy gets a little too close.

Total War: Rome 2 drops September 3, for Windows PC.
