The Hills has been over for about three years now and its cultural relevance has been fading faster than Heidi Montag's fake tan—but you know you're all dying to see this clip anyway. This morning, MTV aired an 'alternate ending' to the reality series, which for six years had been about as real as Heidi Montag's entire body. We could seriously do this all day.

Anyway. If you don't recall, the ending that did air featured stars Brody Jenner and Kristin Cavallari embracing before Kristin gets in a limo that drives off. When the camera pans out, we see that they were actually in front of a film backdrop, and Kristin gets out of the limo that never actually went anywhere, and hugs Brody again. Basically, it was The Hills producers' little way of saying, "this show was fake all along, haha, we got you." You know, for the three people left watching that still believed the show was real.

In this ending, though, we don't see that they're actually on a Hollywood backlot—instead, after Kristin leaves, Brody goes home, and greets a mystery guest star who's hanging out on his couch. We won't spoil it, but you all know who it is already anyway.

You can check the ending in full up above.
