It’s not long until Sony releases their next-gen PlayStation 4 on the public, bringing with it eye-bleeding graphics and processing power to match. Looking back at the origins of Sony’s console empire, the PS One’s efforts are pretty quaint. This quick look at the various genres and game styles is an interesting case study in performance by genre, even as it’s a somewhat pointed reminder of just how little the industry has changed since the mid-‘90s. Visually, though, it’s fascinating to witness the evolution of visuals over the years.
