On Saturday afternoon, two plainclothes NYPD officers happened upon $750,000 worth of heroin. The cops, members of the 34th Precicnt, witnessed a man throw a duffel bag into the trunk of a car, a move that only triggered suspicion because it was double-parked on a block notorious for drugs.

Officers pulled up in front of the vehicle, prompting the suspect to flee. The man sitting in the driver's seat allowed police to search the car's trunk, where they found nearly 20 pounds of heroin. Joancis Delacruz-Arias, 26, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Police have yet to catch up with the suspect who placed the heroin in the drunk.
