Microsoft Thinks Xbox One Is Worth $100 More

Is it really a "better" system? Redmond believes so.

None

In an interview with Gamespot at this weekend’s Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle,  senior director of product planning and management at Xbox Albert Penello said that the corporate hardware giant isn’t worried about the price of their new $500 console because he believes their system is simply superior.

“"I think we do more. I think our games are better,” Panello said. “I think as people start to experience Kinect and see what it can do using voice, I think that’s better.”

Interestingly, reports that several “Xbox One” demos playable at PAX are actually just high-end PCs with 360 pads hooked up probably don’t do much to help Panello’s case, much like the arrogance Microsoft displayed at E3 which was arguably quickly deflated by Sony’s powerhouse PS4 indie presence, easy game sharing, online policies and, yeah, the price.

Players may want the best, but in the next-gen footrace, price is definitely a factor.

What do you think? Are you down with what the Xbox One offers for the money? Is the mandatory (or not-mandatory) Kinect integration a good thing? Or is it just too expensive? Check out the rest of the story below and leave your
