While the lines to experience the wonders of the cronut have always been long, the scene outside of Dominique Ansel bakery in SoHo today was a remarkable spectacle. According to Eater, it extended all the way past Father Fagan Park, and Gothamist joked that it might reach Washington Square Park one day. Today was a step in that direction.

The cronut's exceptionally high demand at the moment is probably the result of Ansel's Wednesday night appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Ending the week with a line you'd have to see to believe is poetic justice and probably just a preview of what's in store for next week.
