The new generation of smart gadgets for your wrist are getting closer to reality. Italian design team Ciccarese Design have been creating concept designs amid speculation of Apple's plans for a smart watch.

Although the video above features mockup renderings of what Ciccarese has been working on, what's shown is still pretty damn cool. The design is sleek, and incorporates iOS 7 on screen. Ciccarese says it has started prototyping the concept in both white and black versions.

Apple has reportedly been hiring for work on its iWatch team, but it still has never confirmed that such a watch was in development. However, Apple has hired fitness consultant Jay Blahnik, who worked on Nike's FuelBand. So, there's that.

Along with Apple, Samsung is also expected to release their own Galaxy Gear smart watch, which will reportedly come in five colors, while Pebble has been shipping out its pre-orders this summer. In other words: may the smart watch/gadget wrist wars commence.

Check out the video for additional images of the concept. And please, try to maintain yourselves.
