If you've lost track of everyone who's set to appear in Paul Thomas Anderson's next film Inherent Vice, don't worry—the cast is so big, they've probably lost track too. It's still growing though, apparently! According to Indiewire, singer/harpist/Andy Samberg's fiancéeJoanna Newsom, has joined the already star-studded cast of the film, which includes Joaquin Phoenix, Benicio Del ToroOwen WilsonReese WitherspoonJosh BrolinMartin ShortJena MaloneKevin J. O'ConnorKatherine Waterston, Timothy SimonsPeter McRobbieSasha Pieterse, and maybe Sean Penn. To name a few. Wow.

There's no word on who exactly Newsom will be portraying, but that's not too surprising—much of this film has been shrouded in secrecy, as indicated by last month's news that Veep star Simons had been cast in the film in an undisclosed role. Indiewire speculates that Newsom's casting could mean music will "find its way" into the film, maybe in the form of a giant harp. We can hope.

If you're not familiar—Inherent Vice is an adaptation of Thomas Pynchon's 2009 novel of the same name, and follows the story of a detective investigation a kidnapping between 1969 and 1970. Phoenix is portraying the lead detective, Doc Sportello.

Eyeprime has pictures of Newsom on set, in full-on '70s-wear. No, no harp in sight. Yet.
