In the past, the United States has drew criticism for allowing Americans to consume foods that are banned in other countries, many of which are potentially harmful to our health. Yet, rarely is The Land of the Free put under the spotlight for the foods it has banned or placed restrictions on throughout the years.

We did some digging and found bans that were inexplicably outrageous (like the prohibition of Kinder Surprises, which are chocolate eggs containing toys, happiness, and everything a kid could ever want) and others (like laws like ones protecting the sea turtle from growing extinct due to hungry, heartless carnivores) that truly merited some government legislation.
