This past weekend, actress Famke Janssen experienced what it's like to live life in a horror movie, when she found a copy of a creepy children's book she'd never seen before, The Lonely Doll, left on her bedside table—with no sign of forced entry. If you've never seen it before, this is a picture of the cover:

Now, anything to do with old dolls like the one up there is generally creepy on its own, but this whole story gets even weirder when you consider the content of this 1957 book. As NYMag points out, the story follows a lonely doll that makes friends with two bears and is then never lonely again. They even included excerpts:

None

Now, this is generally the part of the horror movie where the audience screams for the young heroine to get the fuck out of that house. Luckily, Janssen did, and she called the police who are now investigating the incident.
