It's best to avoid going into your first sake experience without some background information, lest you want to end up passed out with no recollection of how things got that bad for you. To save you the embarassment and provide some much-needed education, First We Feast talked to connoisseur Chris Johnson of Cherry, which is located in the Dream Downtown hotel. This man has served as the head judge of the U.S. National Sake Appraisal tasting competition for the last 13 years, so he knows his sake.
Johnson says his mission is to " take the sake bomb drinker into being a sake drinker," so follow his advice. The first thing you should do is forget whatever you've heard or think you know about sake bombs.
