Rachel Jeantel, a friend of Trayvon Martin's and the last person to speak to him prior to his fatal confrontation with George Zimmerman, has received plenty of criticism since testifying during Zimmerman's murder trial. Her attitude, appearance and level of education have all been attacked, but someone is finally prepared to do something nice for her.

Moved by her appearance on Piers Morgan Tonight, iconic radio figure Tom Joyner reached out to Jeantel, offering her a free scholarship to the historically black college or university of her choice through the Tom Joyner Foundation. “Hi Rachel, this is Tom Joyner, I love you, I really do love you," he gushed on The Tom Joyner Morning Show today.

"If you want to graduate from high school, and go to an HBCU, even if it’s not in Florida but especially Florida, like Florida Memorial, Edward Waters or FAMU, if you want to do that, I want to help you do that," he added, even volunteering to help her get to that point. “I will help you get tutors to get you out of high school, tutors to help you pass the SAT and I will give you a full ride scholarship to any HBCU you’d like.”

After being the last person to speak to her friend prior to his death and subject to such cruel public scrutiny, Rachel Jeantel has been through enough. Joyner's kind notion is exactly what she needs to turn her life around.
