Microsoft Squashes Xbox One Rumors, You'll Still be Getting a Kinect

Well that didn't take long.

None

Well, say what you will about Microsoft, at least they're effecient when it comes to squashing speculation.

In an earlier post today, an anonymous source stated that Microsoft was going to be rolling out tiered versions of their Xbox One consoles. Most notably, versions of the system that would ship minus the Kinect. Yeah...about that.

"We have no plans to introduce an Xbox One without Kinect," a spokesperson said. "We believe in Kinect and the value it brings to both games and entertainment, and believe $499 is a great value for what consumers receive with their Xbox One."

The bit about $499 being a value is about as hard to accept as being told you can pay back those student loans on your own time. However, Microsoft has stated in no uncertain terms: you will be getting a Kinect if you purchase an Xbox One. Done.
