After following a tip, U.S. Park Police discovered green paint splattered on the Lincoln Memorial around 1:30 a.m. today. Vandals threw green paint on the leg and knee of the Abraham Lincoln monument, and the area will be closed while police investigate and the mess is cleaned.
According to U.S. Park Police Capt. Steven Booker, authorities will review surveillance footage in hope of identifying suspects.
