On Saturday night, D.C.'s brand new lounge KABIN (1337 Connecticut Ave. NW) had its soft opening in the city's Dupont Circle section. Co-owners Rajeev SubramanianDustin Huynh,  Kunal Shah and Vinoda Basnayake (second image) created the new venue in the image of the French Alps and Aspen, and it shows in the decor. The 3,200-square-foot space holds 252 people and features skiing murals, bronze mirrors, charcoal-finished wood walls and herringbone floors. Invironment Design LLC's Brien Z. Watson gets the credit with helping to arrange the vintage design.

KABIN is open from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. on Thursdays, but keeps the fun going for an extra hour on Fridays and Saturdays. It's also available for private corporate events alike. For more information, visit the website.
