No, this line is not for the daily free crack giveaway. It's a line outside of out SoHo's Dominique Ansel bakery for—you guessed it—cronuts. Before you start trying to break down the reason for the ridiculous cronut lines this week, Dominique Ansel's Amy Ma explained it to Gothamist: "The lines have been quite long this past week because it's the first week of the Blackberry Cronut! So many of the fans on line tell me they came back just for this flavor."
Ok, so maybe to cronut fans, this is the equivalent of a free crack (or anything) giveaway. Expect even longer lines next month, when the bakery holds a Facebook vote for either coconut or passion fruit-flavored cronuts.
