This interactive map shows how long it takes to travel anywhere in New York City by subway. The map, which comes courtesy of WYNC, took an OpenTripPlanner and an MTA schedule to create a map based on travel time. Just pick a starting point, enter an address and the map will return a transit time to anywhere in the city. The travel time corresponds to a color spectrum, with a reddish orange representing the shortest time (10 minutes) and a dark blue representing the longest (120 minutes).
Play with the map below and know that the range of colors will distract you from thinking about how frustrating some of these commutes are.
