A Tennessee woman was shocked and humiliated after her doctor told her she was suffering from a severe case of "ghetto booty" when she went for insight into her back pain. Terry Raglan, 55, believes she "blacked out" after Dr. Timothy Sweo's comments.

"It says to me that he doubts what type of intellect I have, how intelligent I am to be able to understand what he conveys to me in a medical term," she said. Raglan suffers from "lumbar lordosis," a spine curvature that forces the buttocks to protrude and causes a great deal of pain.

Sweo doesn't understand what the fuss is about. "I was trying to take a technical conversation regarding your lower back and make it less technical," he wrote to Raglan in what was supposed to be apology. During a phone conversation with Memphis CBS affiliate WREG, Sweo said "In trying to explain [her problem] I said that she had ghetto booty and she didn’t like that apparently." "I think I do understand why her feelings were hurt but I don’t understand what’s offensive about it," he added.

Why would Sweo think it was appropriate to say that to a paitent? If only sense were common. Raglan, who's filed a complaint with the Tennessee Department of Health, said Sweo's comments are "wrong in every aspect" and "very demeaning."
