Philly is finally part of the cronut club. The half-croissant, half-doughnut has become the talk of New York and expanded to Los Angeles after being introduced by SoHo's Dominique Ansel bakery. Now, Jim Hausman of Swiss Haus Bakery (35 South 19th St.) in the city's Rittenhouse section has unveiled the treats, which now allows Philly to buzz about their glory.

If you're still in the dark about what a cronut is, it consists of fried croissant dough topped with a cinnamon glaze and packed with cream. It may to be too many carbs for some, but that hasn't caused its popularity to wane in other cities.
