Sony has filed a trademark application for an unknown service or product called PlayStation TV. The trademark, filed June 26th, was also filed under a service agreement, meaning that PlayStation TV, whatever it is, could be similar to a subscription streaming provider like Netflix or Hulu.
Then again, with no other information to go on, it could just as easily be a PlayStation brand TV with an Apple TV-esque integrated OS. Or just a set-top box that’s somehow (presumably) connected to the PS4, which might be the most likely.
There’s no way to know until Sony decides to announce something, but PlayStation TV could be invading your home soon.
