According to Deadline, The Fighter screenwriters Eric Johnson and Paul Tamsay have optioned the rights to an upcoming book about April's Boston marathon bombings called Boston Strong. The book, which was written by Casey Sherman and Boston Herald writer Dave Wedge, "examines the city’s reaction to the fatal April 15 Patriots’ Day attacks at the Boston Marathon finish line and the hunt for the siblings suspecting of carrying out the bombings."

Right now, it's still too soon for any film adaptation of the tragedy--but the book isn't due out until next year, so any project penned by Johnson and Tamsay would likely come much after that. Which, let's be real, is still too soon for any sort of dramatization of events we all watched on the news and lived through, but timing isn't always Hollywood's forté.
