Frequent visitors of Northeast H Street in Washington, D.C. have been wondering when the new Ben's Chili Bowl location will open. The question has been answered: March 2014. Back in 2011, the late Ben Ali's sons Nizam and Kamal bought the building located at 1001 H St. NE, which was previously men's clothing store George's Place. Plans to renovate the building were finally issued on Friday.

When the renovation is completed, the new Ben's Chili Bowl will sport 191 seats and hold 272 people. Not only will this mark yet another new restaurant on H Street, it will be extremely popular, especially at first. Expect long lines and inevitable comparisons to the U Street location.
