Despite not featuring any actual Jimi Hendrix music or having official approval from the late singer's estate, the Andre 3000-starring Hendrix biopic All Is By My Side is moving forward as planned. And, while it's not set to premiere at the Toronto Film Festival until September, but promotional material is already starting to roll out. First up: A still of star Andre 3000 as Hendrix, complete with the funky, iconic hairdo.
For the record, on 30 Rock, when Jack Donaghy was trying to produce a Janis Joplin biopic, he was faced wuth the same problem that All Is By My Side is facing about the music rights. Instead of trashing the project, he just changed her name to Jackie Jormp-Jomp, and rewrote the song "Take Another Little Piece of My Heart" to be "Take Another Little Chunk of My Love." Just an idea.
