Vince Gilligan Promises "There Will Be Blood" in Final "Breaking Bad" Episodes

"We worked long and hard to ensure that these final eight-and, in fact, the very last episode-would satisfy an audience."

Good news and bad news: The good is that it won't be long now until Breaking Bad returns to television for eight brand new episodes. The bad, however, is that those eight episodes will be the final ever for the series. We're still having trouble coming to grips with living a Breaking Bad-less reality, and this new interview from creator Vince Gilligan doesn't exactly help us accept it—speaking with EW about the show's final bow, Gilligan promises that, in short, shit is going to go down.

"There will be antagonistic relationships aplenty," Gilligan promised of the final episodes. "Walt’s got plenty of fight left in him. And he’s got plenty of forces to fight. You met some of them. Others you haven’t."

Does this mean that Walt's family is doomed to suffer the consequences of Walt's mistakes? "As the movie title goes, there will be blood," Gilligan continued. "To my mind, that’s not the most interesting thing. It’s the emotional moments and the character moments...we’ve got some stuff that I think is going to be truly satisfying and truly shocking and jarring. It does not always center on moments of violence."

Also, this cryptic statement about the finale:

Gilligan also added one more teaser, probably just to mess with us all: "Sometimes you see meth labs in the darndest places."

You can check out the entire interview over at EW. Breaking Bad will return for its final eight episodes on AMC beginning on August 11.
