U.S. retail sales of video-game hardware, software and accessories fell 25 percent last month as consumers shifted to digital titles on mobile devices and wait for the arrival of next generation consoles.

The video game and console market is in the middle of a two-year slump as consumers play web-based titles on smartphones and tablets while more hard-core gamers hold-off for the first new hardware from Sony and Microsoft in seven years, namely the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One respectively.

We'll see if the enticing new consoles with tons of launch titles will fuel and a buyers market in video games
