Thirteen People Shot Across Chicago Since Friday Afternoon

At least 13 people have been shot in Chicago since Friday afternoon. Furthermore, paramedics responding to an emergency on the city's West Side early this morning narrowly dodged gunfire, but emerged from the situation unharmed. A 25-year-old man is listed as being in critical condition after sustaining several gunshot wounds following a shooting that occurred just before 8 p.m. yesterday evening. 

A 23-year-old man who was shot in the torso or abdomen was rushed to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital while two other victims—ages 15 and 20—were taken Holy Cross Hospital. Two teenage boys were also shot in unrelated incidents; one in Cragin, the other in South Shore. The 16-year-old was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital and the 15-year-old was transported to Jackson Park Hospital

Two men were shot in East Garfield Park earlier this morning; both are in serious to critical condition. Just minutes prior, a 23-year-old man was shot in the buttocks in his back yard and two men were shot just after 4 a.m. in  the Little Village section. The 33-year-old victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, while the 26-year-old was taken to St. Anthony Hospital.
