Is Jordan Belfort actually Jay Gatsby if he were born in modern times, brought up in Queens watching Gordon Gekko in Wall Street? Judging by the new trailer for Martin Scorsese's adaptation of Belfort's bestselling memoir The Wolf of Wall Street, possibly! Really, if the trailer reminds you a little of the first preview for Baz Luhrmann's recent adaptation of The Great Gatsby, that's because there actually are a lot of similarities—both include a character portrayed by DiCaprio throwing lavish parties and rolling around in his own money, and both are set to a song by Kanye West (The Great Gatsby used The Throne's "No Church in the Wild," and this trailer has "Black Skinhead" off West's new album, Yeezus).

A little backstory now: The film follows the story of real-life NYC stockbroker Jordan Belfort (portrayed by DiCaprio) who refuses to cooperate with the feds in a major fraud case in the '90s. The film also stars Matthew McConaugheyJonah Hill, Kyle ChandlerMargot Robbie, and a pet monkey that DiCaprio carries around at the end of the trailer.
