The White House Gets its Own Instagram

Guess all it took was video to get Obama on board.

None

Nearly a week after Instagram's video features were launched, the White House has officially signed up, and took the opportunity yesterday to submit their first post—a photo, instead of a video.

Well, the photo itself was pretty cool. The @WhiteHouse's first photograph featured Marine One (the President's helicopter), taking the Obama family to Africa for a trip. But don't worry, it looks like the account caught up with the times and posted their first video just this morning, that shows Africans lining the streets to catch a glimpse of President Obama's motorcade. As of now, @WhiteHouse has a little more than 12,000 followers; far less than the 4 million it has on Twitter, but almost half of the 23,000 they have on Vine. Something tells us the Instagram account will catch up in no time.
