Shia LaBeouf Warned Us All About NSA Spying in 2008

Many Americans are rightfully shocked and outraged today that the NSA has been apparently spying on us all for years now, but we wouldn't be if we'd all just listened to Shia LaBeouf back in 2008—in an interview with Jay Leno on The Tonight Show to promote his role in 2008's Eagle Eye, LaBeouf explained how an "FBI consultant" told him that "one in five phone calls which you make are recorded, and logged." According to LaBeouf, to prove he wasn't lying, the consultant even played a phone call that LaBeouf had made two years before joining the cast of the film. If only we'd listened. If only

For the record, though, USA Today did report in 2006 that the NSA has a database of recorded phone calls made by American citizens. So, maybe we should have listened them too.
