Samsung Reportedly Set to Fill Jay-Z's Pockets with $20 Million

Samsung and Jay-Z: a match made in hip-hop/tech heaven? Maybe so, maybe no.

Page Six is reporting that Jay-Z is about to sign a deal with Samsung Mobile for an estimated $20 million. Lucrative, indeed. According to an unspecified source, the deal could be signed in just a few weeks, and Jay-Z is expected to seek a music-streaming service with Samsung in order to promote his music on smartphone devices.

If true, this would give Samsung another chance to put a thorn—albeit, a tiny one—into Apple's side, with the launch of their music service, iRadio, just around the corner. This would definitely give Samsung that cool edge it may need. It will also put pressure on Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine's upcoming streaming music service, Daisy.

It's all speculation at this point, but we may soon be in for something big.
