Sorry Bret Easton Ellis—the job as director of the much-talked-about 50 Shades of Grey movie has been filled. According to Vulture, Nowhere Boy director Sam Taylor-Johnson—a respected director!—has officially signed on to adapt E.L. James' (*cough*badly-written*cough*) erotic novel for the big screen, beating out names like Darren Aronofsky, Joe Wright, Gus Van SantAngelina Jolie, and, of course, American Psycho author and avid Twitter user, Ellis.

No word on casting choices yet, but we can't help but wonder if this means that Aaron Taylor-Johnson will be in the running for the lead role of Christian—he is, after all, married to Sam Taylor-Johnson, and Ellis suggested him for the role ages ago via Twitter. Of course, his career would probably be better off if he's not involved, but still, something to think about.

Once again pointing out that 50 Shades of Grey was originally a work of Twilight fanfiction that just so happened to get published when the names of the lead characters were changed. This is what became a bestseller and now has a movie deal.
