Penelope Cruz Is Set To Become The Oldest Bond Girl Yet In "Skyfall" Sequel

According to a story at Yahoo! Movies, Penelope Cruz is set to become the oldest Bond girl in the history of the franchise for 2014’s sequel to Skyfall. Cruz, who will turn 40 next April, has been eyed by the Bond producers in the past, but her schedule never worked out until now. No information has been revealed about the character yet, but a source told the site, "She got back into shape fast after the first baby and will no doubt regain her  figure quickly this time. She’ll be a great Bond girl. Bond girls are always brainy as well as sexy, and that’s totally Penelope." Coincidentally, her husband, Javier Bardem, appeared as the villain in 2012’s Skyfall, earning rave reviews for his performance as Raoul Silva.

It was revealed last week that Skyfall director Sam Mendes will return for the sequel; however, there are rumors now that he will in fact direct the next two Bond movies, according to Showbiz 411. Hopefully Cruz sticks around for both of Mendes’ upcoming Bond pictures because while she may be the oldest femme fatale that the franchise has ever featured, she is also one of the most beautiful and talented as well.
