Police in New York City are currently engaged in a tense standoff situation at a Manhattan apartment building. The NYPD was reportedly serving a warrant to a suspect in the 2010 shooting death of 21-year-old Max Moreno, a student at Pace University. When they arrived at the Alfred E. Smith Houses around 8:45 a.m. this morning, Jimmy Siders took refuge in a unit while holding two children, a wheelchair-bound woman, another female and a male hostage. According to Gothamist, the woman is reportedly the 31-year-old Siders' mother.

Police are attempting to make contact with Siders from the hallway of the apartment, and Gothamist also reports that it is still unclear whether or not Siders has a weapon. We will update with more information as it becomes available.
