NYC Hotel to Stop Room Service This Summer

Say it ain't so.

None

In news that will surely rock the city of New York, its biggest hotel—the New York Hilton Midtown—has decided to end room service this summer in favor of an a la carte cafeteria. When the dog days of August arrive, so will the very last room service meal; on-the-run restaurant Herb n' Kitchen will do its best to fill those huge shoes. While customers will lose the room service option, about 55 employees will lose their jobs.

The motive for the decision? The hotel isn't making money off room service, and it figures that eliminating those jobs will free up some extra cash. It's a cold world.
