Stunned authorities in Ypsilanti Township, Mich. say that a man got so high on mushrooms that he ripped a large portion of his own genitals off with his bare hands. The incident took place early last Tuesday when the unidentified 41-year-old man was discovered by Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies after setting off the alarm at Ypsilanti Middle School. According to law enforcement officials, he was completely naked and covered in blood from the waist down.
Sgt. Geoff Foxx said that the man had "mutilated his genitals with his bare hands." Police later learned that the Columbus, Ohio. native had bought the mushrooms while visiting friends. Foxx added that his blood had been sent off for tests to see if there were traces of anything else in it.
The man's vital signs were reportedly "as low as they could go without [him] being dead," but he's since showed signs of improvement. However, to add insult to injury, police still plan to charge him with burglary.
