Mad Men's sixth season ended last night, and 2.7 million viewers tuned in. That's a tie for most-watched season finale in the history of the series. The premiere of season six drew 3.37 million viewers, and the rest of the season averaged around 2.4 million viewers per episode.

To put this in perspective:

  • When The Walking Dead's season three finale aired last March, 14.4 million watched.
  • The season finale of Game of Thrones most recent season drew 5.4 million viewers.
  • The season finale of Girls' most recent season drew 632,000 viewers.
  • The season finale of Duck Dynasty's most recent season drew 8.4 million viewers.

And that's where we're at with TV in 2013.
