5 Lessons Learned on Last Night's "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" (Season 2, Episode 8)

The current queen of reality show monologues, Mimi Faust, is none too thrilled with questions about her new boyfriend Nikko. These include whether or not he’s real with his intentions with her, plus open questions as to whether or not he’s really into men.

Last week, K. Michelle was the first to question Mimi’s new boo and this week we can add Arianne to the list of doubters. When asked how she felt, the cute homegirl who needs to be added to the cast officially said while she thinks the dude is a “very nice guy,” but she doesn’t think he’s “completely” for her. Moreover, she thinks he’s unauthentic. Yes, inauthentic fits better than the former, but there are far worse offenders on this cast. It’s all good, boo-boo. Also: I agree. Dump him, Mimi. If you haven’t already.

Shay got on national TV and said with the biggest smirk, “So guess who in the hell hit me to kick it with them?” She was referring to Lil’ Scrappy, although one wonders why she’s bragging about the man who dumped her to propose to another woman calling her as soon as that woman dropped him. Of course he hit you, Shay. He’s the son of a pimp—naturally he’d have a backup plan.

Ultimately, her longing for her own relationship wasn’t enough to overcome her residual anger with Scrappy. It wasn’t long before she started popping off and throwing Scrappy right out of his house. I mean, don’t let a man do hopscotch over the “friendship” line when it suits him. More importantly, it’s one thing to break a person’s heart, another to destroy their FICO score. Shay needs a Kickstarter for a http://match.com membership or self-esteem transplant. And I suggest Shay grab a Black and Mild and smoke it while listening to Toni Braxton's "Let It Flow." Reflect on your losses and move on. As far Scrappy, there’s always Plan C, ya feel me? 

P.S. - Scrappy swears he set everyone up with a house, but he's the only one being a rapping gypsy on the show. I'm confused.

Don't you just love when people who get someone under less honest circumstances are paranoid about losing their boo thangs in the same fashion? I love the Puerto Rican Princess, but her paranoia is getting the best of her. Though she apologize to Che Mack for trying to sucker smack her, she lost her mind once more after she found out Stevie J got the girl a new TV post-robbery, quipping, “Tryna play sexy Santa Claus for another bitch?!” The horror, y’all. I just want her to realize that she’s a star now and that there are plenty of other vultures in the sea willing and able to exploit her just as well, if not better, than Stevie J.

Still, Line-of-the-Night honors go to Joseline for: "I'm done with his bitch-ass. I'm done with her bitch-ass. And they can do bitch-ass things together."

The loudmouth Memphis singer was wrong to call her friend’s man gay without even half a receipt, but when called to apologize, K. Michelle refused. In fact, she threw out some line about if she really wanted to fight Mimi, she would have. Real keeping: K didn’t want it. A second Pinocchio goes to her for saying in a later scene that she gave no damns about her reputation. Yes, you do. Otherwise you wouldn’t tell us how real you are in every other sentence. 

As far as K. and Mimi go, maybe neither needs the other party as a friend. Mimi’s priestess and fortune teller suggested as much, albeit I think the spirits of season one episodes had more to do with her reading than the supernatural. 

Side note: This voodoo priestess on this show is who Iyanla would be if Oprah hadn't given her another chance.

You can’t help but feel sorry for Rasheeda. Her husband has bashed her for getting pregnant with their child, pushed her to get an abortion, and then accused her of cheating on him and demanding a paternity test. If that weren’t enough, during a heated argument at her photo shoot, he says he doesn’t want to be a husband anymore. I don’t know what Kirk is going through, but I'm surprised Rasheeda hasn't gone from Georgia Peach to Lorena Bobbitt on Kirk. If she did, I’m not sure many would blame her. Don’t be an asshole to your wife, especially not on national television.
