5 Lessons Learned on Last Night's "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" (Season 2, Episode 10)

Mimi’s new boo thang, Nikko, is the kind of boppa that comes to you the second you end up on a club flyer. I would not be surprised if he wets himself each time he hears, "And we're rolling." You can tell that he studied the show before he decided to approach Mimi. Case in point: When he literally recreated the scene last year in which Karlie Redd had to inform Mimi that Stevie J and Joseline were messing around. This time, Nikko tried to get at Karlie Redd, and after Mimi cursed him out about it, he asked Mimi about a threesome with Karlie. That, too, is a play off a rumor that Joseline, Stevie and Mimi have had threesomes. Nikko, who looks like a rejected member of Dru Hill, is very much the stale store-brand version of Stevie J—and since we’ve already got one clever creep on the cast, we don’t need another. Mimi: Didn’t I already suggest you join an online dating service? 

And y’all, give Karlie Redd a pass on this one. If someone were cheating on you, wouldn’t you want to know? If you say no, uh, love yourself.

Stevie J told Joseline he’s been doing some “soul searching” with respect to their relationship. If you’re not fluent, "soul searching" is shifty speak for "I thought about what my bank account was before her." And bless Joseline’s heart, she wants her version of "'03 Bonnie and Clyde" so desperately, but her deal with Steebie is more like "Priest and Run, Boy, Run." Together, they’re apparently about to launch Joseline’s music career on her dime. Uh, good luck with that, mama, but I got you on at least one iTunes single. For love.

In the denial and delusional portion of this week’s recap, let us begin with K. Michelle crooning for Chris in a bodycon dress inside of a church. The Lord and blessed physicians provided her that temple, so she is free to show it off wherever and however as she pleases. After that, Arian—who isn’t that great of a peacemaker—tried to settle K. Michelle’s rift with Mimi in the church parking lot. K. Michelle apologized for her behavior, expressing her love for Mimi despite hitting her in the face with the florists’ finest. Mimi, still pissed about Stevie J 2.0, didn’t really reach out for the olive branch extended. Or maybe she realizes K’s moods swing harder than Joseline at her old gig. Whatever the case, they’re not besties again—yet.

Meanwhile, Scrappy had to piss-nay-yee in a cup and his PO set him up, ya feel me? Unfortunately, something about his urine being too cold and him refusing to do another test prompted a warrant being issued for his arrest. And surprise, surprise, who did he call when in trouble? Well, duh, Momma Dee—but also Erica, his ex-fiancee. Momma Dee was upset, but oh well. In fact, I wish Erica had said in response to her saying, “Wow, you called her?!” by rapping, “Boom! I Got Your Boyfriend.” Next time.

Lastly, who says on a first date, “I heard you was a hoe.” Traci, that’s who. Arian should’ve invited her to church because she clearly needs prayer and healing.

Here's hoping this doesn’t sound sexist and ageist, but a 40-year-old pregnant woman trying to push a single called “Hit It From The Back” sounds like a bad idea. Granted, that position might be best for those heavy with child, but Rasheeda seems to have allowed her impatience with her stalled rap career to get the best of her.

While she tried to explain to Deb Antney that people are more accepting of pregnant women in music, Mama Flocka scolded her for bringing up the Queen Bey. "Beyoncé is Beyoncé; can't go there now,” the wise one countered. Rasheeda should focus on divorce court and getting a gig as some morning radio show host. She can drop a diss record at Kirk here and there, if the spirit calls. 

Mirror, mirror on the wall, when is Shay going to realize she is the wackest one of them all? At the “Karlie Redd, Champagne & Weed” event, Shay immediately tried to start a fight with Erica. Why? Well, Scrappy only seems to view her as a place to poke ever so frequently while he obviously has genuine affection for the mother of his child. So Shay, loud and banjee as ever, swung once at Erica and later tried to sneak another shot in. And yet, Erica is purportedly the “weak ass bitch.” Erica is one of those "I know how to act in the office, but I will get you after 5:00 p.m." types. In other words, Shay is gonna huff and puff and get clocked on the street before she knows it. Can she not return in the third season? We get it already: Scrappy doesn’t want her and now she’s upset. Go call Iyanla about that, we don’t care anymore.

P.S. Karlie Redd went from Louis, Prada, Gucci to Indian, Malaysian, and Cherokee Remy. Not mad at you running a beauty supply store, Karlie, ‘cause rapping hasn’t been working so well thus far.
