Drowning your sorrows in alcohol following a breakup is a dangerous move, especially if you're an angry drunk. A lawyer found herself on the opposite end of the law in Brooklyn this weekend after drunken post-breakup episode that culminated with her removing her underwear and screaming “Eat my ass, you f****** pigs!” at police. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
Stephanie Hendricks, 39, went on a torrid binge in Williamsburg after her boyfriend dumped her. At about 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning, she jumped out of a cab without paying the $6 fare and ran into a deli where she was followed by cops. Still incensed by her dissolved relationship, Hendricks removed her panties and threatened officers, yelling "Suck my p****" as well.
Hendricks, who has an office in downtown Brooklyn, was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and beaving officers of the law. Police promptly escorted her to Heartbreak Hotel, aka jail. Today, after semi-recovering from the weekend's events, she expressed her embarrassment to Gothamist. "All of that is just drunken nonsense," she said. She added that she didn't even remember anything past a certain point, but an overindulgence in alcohol at a client's bar will typically lead to that.
Hopefully, this doesn't hurt her practice.
