Scott Disick seems like a complete shoo-in to portray American Psycho anti-hero Patrick Bateman, so it made complete sense when Kanye West cast him in his upcoming music video which is inspired by the film—but according to Page Six, Disick wasn't actually West's first choice. The gossip column reports that West actually wanted James Franco to take on the lead in the music video. Ouch.

No word on why exactly this didn't happen. Page Six goes on to report that the video is being shot in Brooklyn, and it will recreate the infamous Huey Lewis & the News scene which featured Bateman asking Jared Leto's character if he likes Huey Lewis. Then, you know, he proceeds to slaughter him with an ax while "Hip to Be Square" is blasting from the stereo. It's classic.

Kim Kardashian's best friend, Jonathan Cheban, has been cast in Leto's role, and the music video will reportedly feature references to West rather than Huey Lewis.

The music video will be released later this week, ahead of Kanye's new album, "Yeezus," which will be released on June 18th.
