Perhaps Keenen Ivory Wayans' strongest work to date, I'm Gonna Git You, Sucka basks in its Blaxploitation conceit. To be fair, the tone is more Airplane! than Dolemite, ramping up the silliness instead of spending large amounts of time nodding at older films. The winks toward the 1970s come from the faces of that era (Isaac Hayes, Jim Brown) themselves, playing rundown elder gents who complain about the aging process, and nifty sight gags (an older woman kicks ass in the form of a man in a wig, poking fun at Blaxploitation's technical shoddiness).
The film's fearlessness in the way of random comedy set the Wayans precedent, a style later used in Don't Be a Menace in South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood and Scary Movie. I'm Gonna Git You, Sucka is still the funniest, though.
