Here's a love letter to anyone who's ever wanted to put a bullet into annoying-ass Barney's purple head. Concerned with murder, heroin, and foul language, Death to Smoochy takes place in the unlikeliest of worlds: children's television. Robin Williams is manic as ever as Rainbow Randolph, a deviant kid's TV show host who gets replaced by a supposedly safer bet, Smoochy the Rhino (Edward Norton).
Determined to eradicate his replacement, Randolph hatches a bunch of half-assed schemes, the funniest of which is tricking Smoochy to perform in front of a neo-Nazi crowd. For those who like a little sadism in their comedy, Death to Smoochy is an oft-forgotten platter of darkness worth checking out.
