The NYPD and FBI have released new video footage from the March 2008 attempt to bomb the Times Squaremilitary recruiting center. They're also offering a $65,000 reward for information that will lead to an arrest or conviction of the man, known as the "bicycle bomber," who attempted to detonate a device that was built with military ammunition.
Authorities also released a photo of the device's remains, as well as one of the blue Ross bicycle the man used to escape. Officials suspect that the man and anyone who may have aided him could be involved in other unsolved bombings that have taken place in Mexican and British consulates. Each attack involved a man clad in a grey sweatshirt planting explosives that detonated between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m.
The new images are currently being placed on billboards across Times Square and Twitter is being utilized to seek answers, as the hash tag #BikeBomber has been instituted. Anyone with information is being urged to reach out to the FBI at 212-384-1000.
