Could Bethesda Have Scrapped A Near-Complete "Prey 2"?

Ex-Human Head dev says the game was "a lot more than a demo" before cancellation.

A ex-developer that worked on Prey 2 has taken to Twitter claiming that Bethesda scrapped a “full” game following a recent rumor that the publisher has tasked Dishonored’s Arkane Studios Austin with rebooting the project.

Jason L. Blair, a designer who worked as a writer with Prey 2’s initial developer Human Head in the last six months of the game’s dev cycle, called out the Bethesda via his Twitter account, saying the recent rumors compelled him to seemingly reveal the truth over the shooter that’s been stuck in development hell since 2011.

“I was narrative designer/writer on Prey 2 for the last six months of its development at Human Head. It was a lot more than a demo,” Blair tweeted earlier this weekend. “Prey 2 was a full game. And a crazy fun one.”

Blair, who currently works for Volition, also said that what happened to Prey 2 was “political,” and “potentially litigable.” As of this writing, his tweets from May 31 are still up, so take that how you will. Whether or not Bethesda will respond to any of this remains to be seen.
