Over the course of five seasons, TNT's gritty procedural Southland amassed a quiet but dedicated following. After the network announced that it would not return for a sixth, we've been on the look out for thoughtful obituaries and think pieces. But nothing so far.

In the weeks before HBO cancelled Enlightened, it became the talk of the town, though, relatively speaking, little ink had been spilled about the series prior.

It's been a few days since the cancellation of Southland was announced, but nothing yet from the big TV writers. Will it be become hip to claim Southland as a beloved program in the wake of its demise? We'll see.
