Tumblr went into a spin earlier today after a tweet from Yahoo popped up on the microblogging site. "First of many changes to #tumblr coming very soon," it read. "We will begin filtering out explicit content, in order to make the site for kids!" The tweet, however, was photo-shopped and is reported to be fake (it currently has over 110,000 notes, a mix of reblogs and "likes").
It's no secret that longtime Tumblr users have not been happy with Yahoo's purchase of the site, and many believe Marissa Mayer will run the blogging community into the ground.
"I’ll keep posting porn til they kick me off but the end may be near, kiddos," wrote the author of howtobeterrell. Luckily, for him, he won't have to.
