Monday mornings suck, hence why people go so hard on the weekends—even on Sundays. Tonight marks the kickoff of The Getaway, a party for people who enjoy extending the weekend for as long as possible. DJs Spinser Tracy and Tom Lim want to make Sunday evenings in D.C. a positive rather than a depressing reminder that Monday is right around the corner, so they've created The Getaway to be that weekly diversion. Lost Society (2001 14th St. NW) will host the event from 7 p.m. until 1 a.m. where a good time and great music can be expected every Sunday until the wheels fall off.
The escape begins tonight on Cinco de Mayo. Consider it perfect timing.
